Brendan Farrelly is a native to the Houston area, who always dreamed of practicing law in his hometown. To accomplish this goal, Brendan worked throughout high school to earn the resources necessary to further his education, developing a work ethic that would only strengthen with time. After graduation, Brendan attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History (his life-long academic interest) with a minor in Spanish, developing his bilingual skills which he routinely utilizes in practice. Brendan then pursued his ultimate goal of practicing law by attending the SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas, where he found success academically—making the Dean’s List—as well as extracurricular triumph on the ABA Labor & Employment Mock Trial Team, reaching the national competition in New Orleans where he made semifinalist. He further marked a tradition of service at SMU Dedman, recognized on the Pro Bono Honor Roll, awarded for over two-hundred logged hours of law-related public service.
Brendan honed his legal skills as a paralegal and has over five years of paralegal experience in civil litigation practice, particularly personal injury, developing clients’ cases from intake to settlement or trial. He routinely prepared his clients for deposition, in both English and Spanish, facilitated hundreds of clients through the discovery process, and drafted motions and other legal documents for the attorneys he worked alongside. He participated in settlement negotiations with the attorneys regularly, often acting as an intermediary between the attorneys and their clients, communicating transparently and effectively the terms, expectations, and ultimately approval of the terms of many settlements directly to clients.
After passing the bar, Brendan realized his dream joining Fahl & Donaldson to level up his paralegal experience in civil litigation as a licensed attorney. Brendan is passionate about litigation, achieving positive results for his clients in hard-fought cases, fully preparing his clients for all the possibilities involved, and ultimately effectively realizing a positive outcome for his clients in that litigation, whether via settlement or trial.
